This week in circle time we have talked about Bullying. What it is, why is happens and what to do if it happens to you. The children gave some very good answers. For Homework I asked the children to make a poster about what they had learnt. Mr Wood judged the posters and here are the winning three. Congratulations to the following children.

Anti-Bullying Week In our English lessons, we looked at a story about bullying called 'Say Something'. We used drama techniques like hot-seating and freeze frames to think about the thoughts of the characters.

The Anti-Bullying Alliance have worked with over 1000 children and young people to decide the theme for this year and they have said the aims of the week this year are: Small change. Big difference. This week our children have been looking at the different groups associated with bullying and how each group contributes and how they should all behave and react in those scenerios. They looked at acceptable use of ICT and social media and then they produced a diary writing as the victim of bullying for our class display.

Anti-Bullying Week is an annual UK event held in the third week in November which aims to raise awareness of bullying of children and young people, in schools and elsewhere, and to highlight ways of preventing and responding to it. Anti-Bullying Week is organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) in England, which is made up of about 140 member organizations.

During Anti-Bullying Week, Year 5 did lots of work on how to prevent bullying and what to do if we see it happening. The theme this year was 'Change Starts With Us'. We considered how our own actions can influence and affect others and we decided upon good individual behaviour to exhibit. This week was also Safer Internet Week.

Anti-Bullying Poster Competition Winners In November 2017 Miss Mihailovic asked us to design an Anti-Bullying poster in anticipation of Anti - Bullying week. So many of us entered the competition making her job to select a winner more difficult.

The children will be completing Anti-Bullying activities during this week. In November 2018, Longmoor Primary School took part in the National Anti-Bullying week, this year the theme of the campaign was called 'Choose Respect'. To kick start the week there was an Anti-Bullying assembly for the whole school to introduce the theme.
